A couple of weekends ago, I drove down to Monterey to visit a friend. Having access to such stunning, new (for me) scenery is just one of the side benefits to living in the Bay Area.

Monterey Excursion
I recently crossed the border. The metaphorical border, that is, that divides Southern California and Northern California. So far, so good--despite an occasional raised eyebrow when I say I'm from L.A., everyone has been hospitable.

Adamson House in Malibu
I recently took a tour of the Adamson House in Malibu. It's a stunning home built in 1929 by Stiles O'Clements just feet away from the Malibu beach.
The first view of the home is breathtaking.

New Photos From My Favorite Place on Earth
I recently got to spend two and a half wonderful weeks in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This place is very special to me, as it has both natural beauty and strong family ties.
While there, I wanted to take advantage of the stunning scenery and local events (including a Native American Pow Wow). There's no place I'd rather be in the summer. Enjoy!

Only in Hollywood...
Recently I went over to Hollywood to do some street shooting. As it turned out, what intrigued me more than the festive chaos of masses of tourists (and the locals playing hosts) were the more quiet moments I came across while there. In addition, I found the angles created by the bright sun playing off the buildings particularly appealing.

Springtime in Southern California
I spent this morning at the beautiful Descanso Gardens in La Canada/Flintridge, CA. The flowers were stunning, and as a result, it was an ideal day to shoot. Here are some of the best images from my most recent photo excursion.

Loving the Great Outdoors
Here are some more favorite recent photos. I shot most of these images for a recent photography class. I tend to shoot outdoors using natural light and with minimal post production work in Lightroom.

B&W Photography Extravaganza
Here are some additional photos from my most recent class. I primarily shoot landscapes, but my niece Allie recently came from Seattle for a visit, so she gamely let me photograph her as well. For this particular assignment, we were asked to focus on b&w--a format I love.
